Song of Songs

“Just as rain water comes down in drops and forms rivers, so with the Scriptures: one studies a bit today and some more tomorrow, until in time the understanding becomes like a flowing stream.”  –Song of Songs Midrash Rabbah 2:9

When arguing for inclusion of Song of Songs in the Biblical Cannon, Rabbi Akiva stated, “for all the ages are not worth the day on which the Song of Songs was given to Israel; for all the Ketuvim are holy, but the Song of Songs is the Holy of Holies.”
